Pay a visit to Gramma Gene Campbell at Hell’s Acres and listen to her remarkable story, richly seasoned with her unique brand of wisdom.

Flip through an old scrapbook on a touch screen and learn about the lives of other remarkable Red Lake women. Listen to Lotte Bauza from Germany and Irma Deedas from Latvia share their touching stories about coming to Red Lake in search of a better life. 

Meet a Legendary Prospector

Discover Red Lake’s gold mining history through the eyes of Cliff Harvey, a lifelong and legendary Red Lake prospector. Cliff will tell you hair-raising stories of hardship and survival, infected with the passionate drive that has kept him, and many others, looking for gold all these years.

Listen to Naamiwan’s Dream and the Legend of Red Lake

Listen to descendants of Naamiwan (who was also known as Fairwind) as they tell the extraordinarily beautiful and inspiring story, in English and Ojibway, of a very special drum displayed in a recreated dance pavilion. 

Then experience the haunting sounds of Fairwind’s dream-dance ceremony.

Let an Aboriginal elder tell you about the Legend of Red Lake, as he heard it from his ancestors.
