Staff

 Director/Curator: Michele Alderton

Michele AldertonMichele has been the Director/Curator of the Red Lake Museum (now known as the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre) since 1996. Prior to her appointment Michele was a municipal councilor for the Township of Golden. She has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Civilization and currently sits on the Ontario Museum Association Council. Over the years Michele has secured over $4 million in government grants and private funding to preserve the heritage and culture of the Red Lake area. 

Curator’s Assistabrentnt: Brent Rosborough

Brent studied history and political science at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay.  Most recently he has completed his masters degree in history with a specialization in Irish Immigration.  Brent has also worked as a research assistant for projects focusing on northern food security and health care in western Canada.

 

Assistant Curator: Sara Cuthbertson

SaraSara has been the Assistant Curator of the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre since November 2005. Originally from Toronto, Sara holds a degree in Archaeology and post-graduate diploma in Museum Management and Curatorship. Sara has also held positions at the Royal Ontario Museum and the South Canterbury Museum in New Zealand.

Special Projects Assistant: Pamela O’Neill

PamPamela has a Creative Communications degree with a major in Advertising from Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has been at the Heritage Centre since May 2010, assisting with the promotion of the museum and working on special projects such as the Donor Wall Album, Science North exhibits, and Immigration Project. She enjoys continually learning about the history of her hometown of Red Lake.
