Norval Morrisseau has been widely recognized in Canada and internationally for his achievements and impact on First Nations and Canadian Art. What is less known, however, is the compelling story of his formative years, which he spent in Red Lake, Ontario. Here, his story is told through interviews with family members, friends, artists, patrons, and the many people who supported his development during those years. Also included are close to 50 excerpts from newspaper and magazine articles, reproductions of exhibition catalogues, photographs, correspondence, and more. The book also tells the story of the Triple K Co-Operative, the first Native Art silk screening production company in Canada.
