Chelsie is a tattoo artist who loves to experiment with various mediums & consciousness-expanding modalities. Outside of tattooing, she gravitates towards meditation, yoga, singing, lyrical poetry, piano, guitar, spray paints, acrylics, watercolours, pencils, & pastels- and aspires to work with elemental mediums such as clay & wood. Alongside her fascination with the evolution of consciousness & the desire to create a soul-expressive tattoo process, Chelsie felt the need to explore modalities that uncovered the deeper layers of how and why- leading to certifications in Art Medicine (2024) and Integrative Changework (2023). Art Medicine is a modality inspired by plant medicines, shamanic journeying, and rites of passage- combining guided meditation, journaling and art-making to create an internally-focused transformative experience that expands capacity for intuition, possibility, and emotional exploration, processing and releasing. Integrative Changework is a unique style of somatic coaching that combines therapeutic memory reconsolidation, neuroplasticity, clinical hypnosis, and neural-linguistic programming to create positive triggers, insight, and change in emotional and behavioural patterns. Chelsie is currently accepting clients for personalized sessions that allow for a mixture of one or both of these modalities… and maybe even an experimental tattoo process with them! |

In a departure from strictly Nature portraits, the human portraits highlighted in this year's exhibit combine representational depictions with the abstract--the mundane and the sublime. They explore personal, emotional, and universal themes. They showcase her love of colour and willingness to embrace the challenges presented by a variety of mediums, as well as her early passions and more recent influences. These include National Geographic depictions of galaxies; science-fair projects exploring the heavens; poems and stories of mythological heroes immortalized in constellations; a lifetime fascination with astronomy and star-gazing; the art of Jasyn Lucas and Jackie Traverse (Indigenous artists); Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night"; and Michaelangelo's "Creation of Adam." Patrick paints what he sees through a spiritual lens—inspired by his homeland, surrounded by the original works of Woodland painter Norval Morrisseau throughout his community. Art and design have been the driving force throughout Patrick’s life. This passion for the arts led him to the graphic design program at Sault College (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) and then to Toronto to pursue a career in design. Those early days were filled with the “wrong jobs” which led to the launch of his own company, Patrick Hunter Art & Design in 2014. He began initially by selling original paintings through patrickhunter.ca with the mandate to create art that makes people feel good. He has since expanded to include prints, blankets, glassware, and apparel with his art—purchased by people around the world. Patrick believes a better world can be created through art, where future generations can see themselves reflected in mainstream culture. This hope for the future informs his work. With that in mind, he has been working toward this goal through collaborations in the corporate world, including the Olympics, Rogers Media Company, the Chicago Blackhawks, Holt Renfrew, Giant Tiger, Hyundai, and Nelson Publishing, to name a few. When not collaborating with exciting national partners, Patrick is creating awareness about his Ojibwe roots and inspiring creative confidence through in-person and virtual paint workshops across North America.
