2025 Banner ProjectOn April 2nd, the RLRHC unveiled its plan to showcase the history of the region in combination with the array of artistic talent of the Red Lake community.
Staff selected 50 photographs from the RLRHC's collection that would be made into banners in order to be hung downtown on Howey Street. The RLRHC then put the call out to artists. Each artist was responsible for selecting one photograph in order to create their own artistic interpretation of the image. Their image would be printed on the other side of the banner. A June 25th deadline meant that artists would have to work fast. The uptake on the project was very good. A total of 34 banners were created and hung around town just in time for the official commemoration of the July 25th anniversary of the discovery of gold in Howey Bay.
