The start of a journeyIn 2015, the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre, working closely with the Red Lake Arts Council, put together the Red Lake Art Show. The show featured 13 local artists, many of which have gone on to make a career out it.
In 2016, the Red Lake Arts Council disbanded, however, the Heritage Centre forged ahead. This time, 17 artists showcased their works of art. 2017 and 2018 were equally successful, and the annual exhibit had attracted a following. Sadly, in 2019, the Heritage Centre lost its roof and the art show had to be cancelled. When the building reopened in 2023, staff excitedly got to work on the upcoming art show. Complete with a whole new method of displaying the works of art, the show was praised for its professional look and attention to local artists. Now the show goes on. The visitors may differ and the artists may change, but the quality of art remains the same. |
