Objectives:
The intern would be expected to:
  • Create a list of the surrounding tourism camps, organizations, and facilities.
  • Determine if each entity has tourism paraphernalia, and if those items are represented in the RLRHC’s tourism brochure rack.
  • Create and design tourism brochures that represent the RLRHC.
  • Create and disseminate tourism brochures to other tourism camps, organizations, and facilities.
  • Design and run several small programs during the summer months to coincide with tourism groups.
  • Working with Highway 105 Tourism and Marketing Board, help design the layout and content of the RLRHC’s portion of the Tourism Booklet.
  • Ensure that the RLRHC’s website is up to date and contains tourism information and packages associated with local tourism. Creating and submitting social media posts.
  • Creating innovative ways of attracting positive attention through social media.

Museum Accession Intern
YCW Internship


Position Summary

Under the management of the Curator, the Museum Accession Intern will be responsible for conducting an inventory of a portion of the RLRHC's collection. In addition, they will help with sustaining, building, and organizing the RLRHC's collection.

Principle Duties:

- Accessioning, cataloguing, photography, researching and making recommendations for artifacts.
- Entering artifacts into PastPerfect.
- Reviewing the current process for donations, accessioning and inventorying.
- Conducting tours of the facility.
- Helping with gift shop sales.
- Helping in brainstorming and fabricating museum exhibits.

This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada, through the Young Canada Works at Building Careers in Heritage program, and all applicants must be registered in the YCW candidate pool and meet the current YCW-BCH eligibility criteria. An individual may be eligible for an internship if they:
• are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible);
• are legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number);
• are between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment; and
• are a college or university graduate (certificate, bachelor's, master's or doctorate).
Note: Priority will be given to graduates that have not previously participated in YCW internship programs and that are unemployed or underemployed.
