A featured artist at past Red Lake Art Shows exhibits and RLRHC Board member from 2018 to 2022, Amy Newport has long supported the RLRHC. In an effort to help the RLRHC raise funds, the majority of Amy's exhibit pieces were auctioned off in a silent auction. The proceeds went towards the RLRHC's exhibit revitalization following storm damage in 2019.
The exhibit featured an array of photos on the themes of canoes, animals, indigenous plants, past and present life, and, of course, the famed sunsets of Northwestern Ontario. These images showcase the truly picturesque views here in our own backyard, reminding visitors to savour such natural beauty rather than take it for granted. Friends, family, and art lovers travelled from as far as Ear Falls and Dryden to attend the exhibit's opening launch. In total, over a thousand people came out to view the exhibition. Originally scheduled for July 15 to October 15, the show was so well-received by the community that it was extended for an additional week.
