Mining Week 2023 video Event
."National Mining Week was first proclaimed by the Government of Canada in May 1995 and has been celebrated every year since during the second full week of May. It is an important occasion to highlight the influential role of the mining industry on our quality of life as Canadians." Canada.ca
Mining Week is recognized on the week of the second Monday of May each year. It's a great time to focus on education. This video series was created with that goal in mind. Red Lake is built not on mining but on miners. That community, sharing, and support that comes with common

COVID-19
There are few events in a community where everyone can step back and say "Do you remember the time when?", and everyone immediately responds with their own stories. COVID-19 is one of those events. Much like Fire-14 and the Red Lake Hotel fire of 1945, this disastrous event will be remembered by everyone who lived through it. There is a twist with COVID-19. We have a chance to share our feelings, our thoughts, how it affected us and what we went through. Like never before, Red Lake has a chance to share in real time, what living through COVID-19 meant for them.
If you feel up to it, share your story with us. How did it make you feel when you first heard there was an outbreak? How did you react? Did you take it seriously, or were you under prepared? How did your job change? Did you have to go into self isolation? Did you get COVID-19?
No story is too small to share. If you want to remain anonymous please indicate it in the comment section. With your help, one day we will be able to look into the past and see exactly what Red Lake went through.
