Mount Jamie Mines took control of the old Frontier Red Lake Gold Mines property in 1975. Mount Jamie immediately dewatered and rehabilitated the shaft. The mine also started building everything they needed to bring the mine into production. This included an open-air gravity mill, workshop, dry and office as well as a new headframe and hoist. Mount Jamie Mines went into production in 1976 and unfortunately only produced for a short time. The mine produced 377 ounces of gold in 1976.
Between 1982 and 2012 nine different companies did exploration on the Mount Jamie property. These include: Oneira-Alfa Ltd. (1982), Keeley Frontier Resources (1983), Jamie Frontier Resources (1984-1988), Pezgold Resources Corporation (1988), Placer Dome (1997), Zenda Captial Corp. (2005), Vedron Gold Inc. (2005), Terex Resources (2005) and Hy Lake Gold Inc. (2007). In 2012 Hy Lake Gold was renamed West Red Lake Gold Mines, and the Mount Jamie property remains part of their Red Lake holdings.
