Evening Star/Moon Rising

Although the evening star (Venus) is the first to appear and the brightest of all the stars that shine from the heavens each night, once every month it is joined by the rising full moon. If one is blessed with a clear night in the wilds of the forest lands, perhaps by a lake (like the one in the picture), then on this special evening one can watch as the evening star summons her sister, the moon, to join her in the skies above. The moon will seem to climb from up behind the trees through the dusk's reddish hues to take its place in the starry canopy. In the drawing, one can see long intersecting lines through the moons as well as from the star down to Mother Earth. This reminds us of our connection not only to everything upon the earth, but to everything above and beyond it as well -- and that we are truly born of stardust.
